I think UK english is international, not US one. That's why to leran UK english is more useful.
I think it just differs from case to case... For example if u learn English for academical purpose then yes, UK in English is OK, but if u learn it with business or just live contact puposes then it's better to try to learn US one too... It's not so difficult at all, the most difficult part of it is understanding the speaker, but it can be improved by watching movies, most of the movies are in US English... They have just some simple rules, like some shortenings, some different pronouncings of letters.. If u catch them, then everything gonna be OK
